Hooray, it’s fireworks night – either a night for the unadulterated enjoyment of explosions of sight and sound, or a time of deep stress for all cat/dog/sensitive children owners.

We’ve had the noise defenders out twice this week already – it has to be said, going to bed in a pair of Dr Dre is a great look for any 5 year old (ok, they were Peltor ear defenders, but they still looked pretty good). That said we are still suffering the loss of the Ally Pally fireworks – surely London’s greatest, and a popular event in the Crouch End calendar. The Alexandra Palace Trust has been unable to fund the event in recent years but is hopeful that, with the planned regeneration of the building and park, the fireworks could return in the future. In the meantime, the nice people at Harringay Online have posted a list of local(ish) displays over the next few days.

And of course Campsbourne School will be hosting its own event this Friday at 5:30pm although with limited numbers tickets are expected to run out quickly so get in there quick if you want to go.
